Brief Description of My Real Job: :
After 20 years working with a Cardio Thoracic group and her vast experience with heart and lung disease, Chris was asked to serve as a contracted agent for St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton California to provide community asthma outreach. She formed Soden & Associates and for over 10 years, Chris has worked with community organizations to provide asthma education to children in schools, asthma education to teachers and school staff and outreach to parents of children with asthma and asthma awareness to community organizations. Collaborating with fire departments throughout the area, Chris has developed a unique experience for children to learn how to better their asthma using firefighters as teachers making asthma education fun. Chris has recently relocated to Dallas TX.Research and Practice Interests: Public Education

Personal Comments: I have been fortunate in my nursing career to have met and worked with some of the finest physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists who taught me a great deal about heart and lung health, from chronic medical conditions, acute cardiovascular and respiratory disease and surgical interventions. I have worked as patient educator, health professional educator and surgical assist. I believe all nurses have passion for some particular aspect of nursing. Mine is cardio-respiratory. I have been blessed to have been an important part of creating programs for pulmonary rehabilitation and asthma control outreach that focus on teaching in the vernacular of those not accustomed to the strange language of health care. I have volunteered for 13 years with the ALAC coordinating and participating in SCAMP Camp, an annual week long residential camp for children with Asthma. Being a part of organizations such as AAE can only make me a better prepared educator.
