AAE National Asthma Educator Certification Review Course on CD
AAE has updated this course to include the EPR-3 Guidelines. Coming later in 2009 is an audio recording of this updated program. This CD-based course has been designed to help prepare asthma educators to take the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) exam. The course syllabus contains slide notes and case studies that accompany the audio recordings of a live review course. The course content is based on the NAECB detailed outline for the asthma certification examination.
Course Objectives:
- To prepare participants to sit for the National Asthma Educator Certification Exam by providing an in-depth review of asthma education based on the National Asthma Educator Certification Exam matrix.
- Discuss the trends in asthma prevalence, morbidity and mortality.
- Discuss barriers to adherence as they apply to self-assessment and self management of asthma.
- Utilize problem-based learning to develop a plan of care for a patient with persistent asthma.
The National Asthma Educators Certification Exam is administered by the National Asthma Educators Certification Board, which is not affiliated with AAE.
The National Asthma Educator Certification Review Course was developed by the Association of Asthma Educators and is the exclusive property of AAE.
