NHLBI (National Heart, Lung, & Blood) Guidelines This site links to PDF documents that can be saved to your computer, includes 1997 Expert Panel Report 2, 2002 Update, and the 2002 Executive Summary

Pediatric Asthma Guidelines (AAP, NHLBI, AAAAI, NAEPP) A key resource with 140 pages, color illustrations, very readable summary of downloadable PDF documents, also nice for presentations by LCD projector.

GINA (Global Initiative for Asthma) The most recently updated GINA documents include the pocket guides. Please note that GINA represents an international consensus so there are some differences in the classification of asthma compared to US NHLBI guidelines. GINA guidelines really put education first and are a worthwhile reading for the asthma educator.  GINA also provides guidance for helping people who are trying to promote implementation of the guidelines.
