Thank you for your interest in the E. Ellis Scholarship Application for 2016-2017.
Applications will be accepted beginning August 1, 2016.
Applicants must be a member of the Association of Asthma Educators in order to apply for this scholarship.
This scholarship has been created by the founding members of AAE in memory of Elliot F. Ellis, MD. Dr. Ellis was instrumental in supporting AAE during the creation of the organization in 1998. The scholarship is available to AAE members in good standing who are seeking to obtain certification as a certified asthma educator (AE-C) through the National Asthma Education Certification Board.
A committee which includes one board member liaison will review and select recipients for the award.
Current Committee Members (2016-2017):
Award amount: $200 to be used for application/testing fees for the AE-C certification exam. Current NAECB Exam fee is $300. The exam must be taken within 6 months of receiving the award.
Applicant requirement: Applicant must be taking the NAECB exam for the first time and must be a member of AAE in good standing.
Award selection: The committee members will decide on which applicants receive an award. Selection criteria include number of years of membership with AAE, location of practice, percent time of providing asthma education and need. The number of awards each year will be based on need and available funds.
Funds: Funding will be based on donations and will be kept separate from general AAE operating expenses.

You will receive an email to confirm receipt of application. Your application will be reviewed by the scholarship committee and the decision will be sent to you within 6 weeks.
